Singapore’s Shannon Tan has been improving her results in Major championships throughout the 2026 season.
The 2025 Ladies European Tour (LET) Order of Merit winner competed in the Amundi Evian Championship last week – her third Major of the year.
Tan finished in a share of 38th place at the Chevron Championship in April before a T32 result at the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship in June.
At Evian Resort Golf Club, where Tan has finished as runner-up twice at the Jabra Ladies Open de France, she produced rounds of 69-72-67-68 to end the week in a share of 16th place.
“Honestly, I left some shots out there especially in the second round and it’s something I’m really trying to work on moving forward to not look at the cut line, but it’s hard,” she said.
“It’s a different mindset and something I need to work on. I think I was a bit tentative and conservative where I could have been more aggressive knowing how soft the greens were. I had two dropped shots today, I could have saved one easily so that was a soft bogey.
“Overall, I’m still happy to see that progress of not having too many dropped shots in a Major compared to the past few years. I nearly aced 16, it would have been good if it went in.
“It comes with experience of the major setup here. This course isn’t the flattest, so just knowing what to do on different lies and there’s so many different lies you can get out here. Over the years, you gain experience and know what to expect. My first-ever Evian, I did not expect the first, fast greens and hard pins, but the more you play the more experience you get.”
Tan now heads into the UK swing on the LET schedule which begins with the ISPS HANDA Women’s Scottish Open followed by the AIG Women’s Open and then the PIF London Championship.
The three-time LET winner, who is 79th in the Rolex Women’s World Golf Rankings, is going to try and use her new mindset to not look at the leaderboard.
She added: “It’s a great swing. I’m going into it and trying to treat it like a normal event. Hopefully, the stars align for AIG. I will just go in and try to do my best and focus on each shot instead of just looking at the leaderboard as a whole. That’s something I need to work on.”
