KYRIACOU LOCKED IN FOR AUSSIE WOMEN’S MAJORS

By Golf Australia

LPGA star Steph Kyriacou has confirmed she will play in Australia’s back-to-back women’s golf majors – the 2026 Women’s Australian Open and Australian WPGA Championship – in March.

Kyriacou will join fellow Aussies Minjee Lee, Hannah Green and Grace Kim at the 2026 Women’s Australian Open at Kooyonga Golf Club from March 12-15, before heading to the Gold Coast for the 2026 Australian WPGA Championship at Sanctuary Cove Golf and Country Club from March 19-22.

After earning her LPGA Tour card in 2022, Kyriacou has established herself as one of Australia’s best players on the global golf stage.

The 25-year-old recorded five top-10 finishes on the LPGA Tour last year, including season-best results of a tie for fifth at the Mizuho Americas Open and the T-Mobile Match Play. She also played a key role in Australia’s winning team at the 2025 Hanwha LIFEPLUS International Crown.

Kyraciou said: “There’s nothing quite like competing at home and being part of two tournaments with world-class fields in Adelaide and on the Gold Coast is something I’m really looking forward to. I think we will see two events that really highlight how strong women’s golf is in Australia. We’re in an awesome position at the moment.

“Both the Open and WPGA are going to be great moments to be part of and it’s always special to play in front of the Aussie fans.”

Golf Australia CEO James Sutherland said Kyriacou’s commitment was another significant boost for the women’s Australian Open as it continues to attract Australia’s top players back to home soil.

“Steph is one of Australia’s most exciting female golfers,” Sutherland said. “Having our leading Aussie players like Steph, Hannah, Minjee Lee and Grace Kim compete at Kooyonga provides a fantastic opportunity for Australian fans to see the best of women’s golf on home soil and on one of the country’s best courses.”

WPGA Tour of Australasia CEO Karen Lunn said: “Having Steph play in both major events, as well as Webex Players Series Sydney, is a huge positive for our tour.

“Steph’s performances across 2025, particularly in the major championships, showed the world that she has the game to match it with the very best.

“It’s incredibly exciting that golf fans across three states will get the chance to watch her live in action. We’re building real momentum for women’s golf in Australia and having our star players return to support our major events in March will help us continue on our mission.”

The 2026 Women’s Australian Open and the Australian WPGA Championship are two of a swing of four events co-sanctioned by the WPGA Tour of Australasia and the Ladies European Tour (LET).

The 2026 Women’s Australian Open is supported by the South Australian Government through the South Australian Tourism Commission.

The 2026 Australian WPGA Championship is supported by Experience Gold Coast and the Queensland Government through Tourism and Events Queensland.
