ZANUSSO EAGER TO KICK ON AFTER GREAT WEEK IN MAURITIUS

Anna Zanusso had her best week to date on the Ladies European Tour (LET) at the MCB Ladies Classic – Mauritius firing a final round 63 (-9) to finish fourth as Smilla Tarning Soenderby claimed victory.

It was the Italian’s lowest scorecard on the LET and in-turn helped her secure her first ever top-five finish on the circuit.

“It means a lot,” Zanusso said, who carded nine birdies on Sunday at the Legend Course. “It means my game is really solid. I had been playing great the whole week but I was making some mistakes. Everything came together on the final day. I’m very happy. I am surprised with the nine-under, but not the bogey-free element.

“I started playing very solidly and then at the end I finished with three birdies in the last four holes. I’m very happy with that round. I knew I had been playing great and I could make a lot of birdies but at the same time, nine-under is quite a lot. I wasn’t expecting it but I’m very glad it’s happened!”

Zanusso joined the LET last year following a strong showing at Lalla Aicha Q-School in Morocco. The Italian would finish 78th on the Order of Merit during her rookie season with her best results coming at the Joburg Ladies Open and Jabra Ladies Open where she finished T17 on both occasions.

Following the the career-best performance in Mauritius, Zanusso is now eager to kick on with her 2026 campaign on the LET.

“My first season wasn’t as good related to golf, but I think I learned a lot last year,” the 26-year-old said. “This season, I am playing much better. I am more comfortable on tour now and have been working on some things.

“I had a good start to the season and I’m so glad I played well this tournament, so we can keep going from here.”

Zanusso is part of a strong group Italians now playing on the LET, with herself, Alessandra Fanali, Alessia Nobilio and Virginia Elena Carta joined by Roberta Liti and Matilde Partele this year.

“Me and Roberta [Liti] played together all three days [in Mauritius],” Zanusso said. “It was very fun. Talking to her was very helpful so I could take my mind off the course. We had great fun and I’m really happy I did it with her.”

Sitting 17th in the 2026 Order of Merit after a great week in Mauritius, the Italian heads to Hamburg next for the Amundi German Masters.
