- Japanese star secures three-shot victory at New Korea Country Club
- Sara Kouskova and Yamashita set new course record of 63 (-9) on final day
Miyu Yamashita put on a show on the final day of the 2026 Aramco Korea Championship firing a course record of 63 (-9) to win by three strokes with a total of 22-under-par.
The world number five has led from the 36-hole mark and was bogey-free once again at New Korea Country Club.
Yamashita began well with birdies on the third, fifth and eighth and 10th holes to put herself in a good position with seven holes to go.
However, Czechia’s Sara Kouskova was hot on her heels, but the 25-year-old major champion rolled in three birdies in four holes before making an eagle on 17 to seal her fourth win of 2026.
It was the Japanese star’s second title on the Ladies European Tour (LET), as she also won the 2025 AIG Women’s Open.
“I’m so happy. Today my shot, my putting, everything was feeling so good. I had trust in my game. I like this course,” said Yamashita.
“It’s my first time playing this tournament and I’m so happy to win, and I also didn’t think I could win so many times, so I’m happy about that.”
Czechia’s Kouskova finished in solo second place on 19-under-par, after she also fired a course record of 63 (-9) at New Korea Country Club.
The two-time LET winner started off hot with birdies on her first, third and fifth holes before back-to-back birdies on nine and 10.
Kouskova rolled in another pair of birdies on 13 and 14 before finishing in style with birdies on 17 and 18 to set the clubhouse lead.
“It’s been such a good day, it’s just topped off a really good week. I’m really happy with how we played and I couldn’t have done much better golf today honestly,” said Kouskova.
“I couldn’t catch [Miyu] even with this because I thought if I have a really low one today, it could be good. I’m still so pumped. I tried to put one foot in front of the other and stayed really calm during the whole day.”
Hong Kong’s Ginnie Ding and Chinese Taipei’s Yani Tseng ended the week in a share of third place on 16-under-par.
Ding produced a bogey-free 66 (-6) on the final day to record her best-ever result on the LET.
“It was a very special week, and I have so many emotions. I went into it with an open mind having just come from the Asian Games. It was a promising week and I felt there was so much potential. It was really nice to be able to harness it this week and the putts dropped,” said Ding.
LET rookie duo Anna Morgan of the United States and Stephanie Bunque of Australia finished in a tie for fifth place on 14-under-par.
Morgan had an excellent final day carding a 65 (-7) which included 10 birdies to move herself to the top of the Rookie of the Year standings.
“I just really got into the zone and didn’t realise how many under I was at the turn and looked at my scorecard,” said Morgan. “I don’t know whether that was a good or a bad thing.
“I got a little excited and amped up on the back nine. I’m proud of my round and glad to have a nice final day and put myself back up towards the top.”
China’s Ruixin Liu and Korea’s Hyo Joo Kim were T7 on 13-under-par with Italy’s Roberta Liti and France’s Celine Herbin-Marshall one shot further back rounding out the top 10.
In the LET Order of Merit, South Africa’s Casandra Alexander leads with 2,956.48 points ahead of Canada’s Anna Huang and Australia’s Kelsey Bennett.
Czechia’s Kouskova climbs from 13th up to eighth place with her runner-up finish and Morgan is now 12th in the standings.
The LET has a week off before the Asian swing continues with the Hero Women’s Indian Open from October 22-25 at DLF Golf & Country Club.
