Rookies from LET Tour School to Join Jenny Haglund in Spain

Sweden’s Jenny Haglund, who earned Ladies European Tour Membership by finishing second on the 2016 LET Access Series Ranking, is the first of the 2017 Rookies to sign up for the Rookie Orientation Days that will take place on January 18-21 at the Denia Marriott La Sella Golf Resort and Spa in Alicante, Spain.

Jenny will be joined by her fellow Rookies who qualify through the Final Stage of Lalla Aicha Tour School, taking place from Saturday 17th December to Wednesday 21st December in Marrakech, Morocco.

The LET’s Rookie Orientation Days were introduced in 2015 to provide those joining the tour for the first time with a comprehensive introduction to the organisation, the administration of the events and the demands of life as a professional sportswoman and also to get to know other Rookies before the LET events get under way.

Director of Development and Membership, Mike Round, commented, “My colleagues and I are looking forward to getting to know Jenny and her fellow Rookies at the Orientation Days. We aim to provide essential information about various aspects of tour life and, based on the feedback we received from the classes of 2015 and 2016, we know it will help them as they embark on their professional careers.”

Leticia Ras-Anderica, who attended the event at La Sella at the beginning of 2016 said: “Joining the LET was a major change in my life and I felt like I had jumped into the deep end with no lifejacket. The Rookie orientation was vital in introducing me to the LET organisation and how things work, so that what before seemed quite daunting, later became merely very exciting. Meeting the LET staff personally and learning the basics of day to day life in tournaments, from entry regulations to travelling tips was a great help to starting off on the right foot and helped me avoid pitfalls. Meeting the other Rookies also helped create the camaraderie that is a great part of being on the Tour.”

Jenny expressed her excitement about attending La Sella and meeting her fellow Rookies when she said: “I’m really looking forward to the LET Rookie Orientation days in Spain. I’ve heard a lot of great things about it from previous Rookies on tour and that it has been very helpful to them. The venue and schedule look great and I’m heading there a little early to get some extra practice in.”
