IN-FORM DAGAR FEELING BETTER THAN EVER AS SHE TARGETS SECOND VICTORY IN CZECHIA

Beroun, Czech Republic will always be a special place for Diksha Dagar as it played host to the site of the Indian superstar’s second victory on the Ladies European Tour (LET).

The left-hander won by four strokes at Royal Beroun Golf Club in 2023 to claim the Tipsport Czech Ladies Open four years on from her triumph at the Investec SA Women’s Open.

Dagar returns to the Czech Republic in red-hot form this week having finished T3 the Dutch Ladies Open on Sunday – one shot adrift of making it in to the playoff which Thailand’s Aunchisa Utama clinched. The result marked Dagar’s fourth top-10 of the season – a reign of form which the 25-year-old says is her best to date.

“I’m excited for the week,” Dagar said. “I’m a much better player than I was when I won here [in 2023], because the learning process continues and it’s all about hard work. Coming back here brings back amazing memories about how I won here. It reminds me of which holes I did well on and which holes I made birdies on.

“It’s always amazing to come back. This golf course surprises me every year. It’s in great condition and I really love this course. It’s one of my favourites. There is beautiful nature all around the course. The 18th is such a signature hole because you get to see the town of Beroun and all the houses. It’s a beautiful city. I love exploring Beroun and the people here are amazing.”

Dagar currently sits 11th on the LET Order of Merit thanks to her four top-10s in 2026 – two of which came in the last two events at the Jabra Ladies Open de France and before-mentioned Dutch Ladies Open.

“I plan to continue the same process,” the Indian said. “Right now I’m very excited playing this game. I’m in really good form and I’ve gained a lot of confidence over the past few weeks. I’ve played some amazing, solid golf and I’m looking forward to continuing this form.

“Last week I was so close to winning. I had a birdie chance on each of the last six holes. Had one more had gone in I would have been close to [getting in the playoff and] winning. But it’s ok. It’s a good sign that I’m getting closer to winning again. Hopefully it will be my day again soon.”

Last week Dagar, still only 25-years-old, reached an impressive milestone hitting 150 appearances on the LET. The Indian joined the circuit in 2019 and hopes to continue lighting up fairways around the world alongside dad and caddie, Colonel Narinder.

“It’s amazing,” Diksha said on reaching the number. “I don’t know how the time flies away. I’ve just been focused on playing tournaments all over the world. It’s amazing that I’ve been able to achieve playing in so many tournaments – 150. I’m grateful to that. I wish to continue and get to 200 appearances.”

Dagar is one of three past champions in the field at this week’s Tipsport Czech Ladies Open which gets underway on Friday morning. Home favourite Jana Melichova (2022) and Spain’s Marta Martin (2024) are the other two in the 54-hole event.

“I’m feeling pretty confident,” Dagar said. “I’m playing really good golf and I’m looking forward to playing this golf course again. I won here before so yes, I’ll try to continue my form and we’ll see how it unfolds. Hopefully I can win this again.”
