South Korean teenager Hyo-Joo Kim was closing in on her first major as she kept her lead heading into the back nine on Sunday at the Evian Championship.
In perfect conditions, Kim birdied par-3 second and par-5 9th to get to 10-under-par, two strokes clear of compatriot Na Yeon Choi, with Ha-na Jang, Karrie Webb, Mi Jung Hur and Suzann Pettersen a stroke further behind.
Webb had a six-foot eagle chance on the ninth hole but the ball ended just right of the hole. She is chasing her eighth major championship and trying to become the only player to have won six different majors.
The defending champion Pettersen made her second straight birdie with a 35 foot putt on the 13th to get to seven-under-par, and back into contention to retain the title.
The winner will take home $487,500, approximately 376,000 euros.
Earlier in the day, Japan’s Mika Miyazato had a hole in one on 16 in the final round using an 8 iron from 138 yards.
