England’s Esme Hamilton has won the third Player of the Month award for 2026 after being voted the winner for April.
The award, which was introduced in 2025, highlights and showcases the brilliant performances from elite athletes seen at Ladies European Tour (LET) events across the globe.
Voted for by fans on the LET’s app and website, Hamilton was shortlisted by commentators Richard Kaufman and Sophie Walker. She was nominated alongside compatriot Cara Gainer, Order of Merit leader Agathe Laisné from France and American Lauren Coughlin.
Voting concluded today, on Tuesday 5 May, with Esme Hamilton securing her first Player of the Month accolade in a tight contest.
The 26-year-old was a rookie in 2025 where she made the most of her limited starts to give herself full status for this year. In only the eighth tournament of the LET season, she clinched her maiden LET victory at the Investec SA Women’s Open at Royal Cape Golf Club in Cape Town, South Africa.
Quote:
“It’s obviously a huge honour that people took the time to support me by voting for me as Player of the Month. An LET win is always up there in your career and hopefully I can have other months in the future with more LET wins. Getting my first win in South Africa and the playing opportunities that it’s creating is very exciting. I can’t wait to play in the AIG Women’s Open: that’s a big dream come true for me. I’ve always believed that I could do this but for it to happen so early in the season is really encouraging and a huge thrill.”
Hamilton follows in the footsteps of Australian Hannah Green, who won the Player of the Month accolade for March, and Thailand’s April Angurasaranee, who won for February.
