Lydia Hall entered the 2026 Jabra Ladies Open de France with a different mindset compared to previous years at Evian Resort.
The Welshwoman has made six appearances in the tournament previously missing the cut in four editions and with best finishes of T17 in 2017 and T20 in 2022.
However, heading into this year’s edition Hall wanted to approach the tournament differently and did a lot of work with her psychologist.
“This golf course has done the worst things to me mentally over I don’t know how many years I’ve been coming here,” said Hall. “Last year I made the decision not to come here.
“This year, with a lot of mental work over the past three years with my psychologist, it was more coming into this week as a challenge mentally to see if I could stay patient, play the golf I know I can play aggressively, and try and enjoy playing this golf course. Accepting you’re going to get bad breaks and make bogeys and stay in the moment.”
All that mental work paid off for LET winner Hall, who put together rounds of 71-68-69 to end the week in a share of second place on five-under-par.
It was the 38-year-old’s best finish of the season and her best-ever finish around Evian Resort.
Speaking after her final round, she continued: “I’m really proud that I had a couple under-par today in the final round because I tend to slip away sometimes which is very frustrating. I’m just really pleased to stick in there. There was obviously a couple more shots out there as there always is that could have, should have or would have been but overall, after the last couple of weeks I’m pleased.
“[This course] It’s super challenging. Visually, it suits a drawer of the golf ball and I’m the opposite with a fade. It’s just knowing which shots you can play off certain tees, which are uncomfortable as well.
“On the first hole for me, I have to start close to out of bounds and bring it back into the fairway. It’s a tough golf course mentally more than anything, you feel like you hit some good shots and don’t get rewarded. It takes a lot of energy, but I’m just pleased that I was able to play really solid today.”

In the two weeks after the Jabra Ladies Open de France, Hall was going to work on some parts of her game including her irons and spend time with family.
She added: “I had a bit of an iron change that didn’t go very well during the U.S. Open qualifier. I was really excited about it, but it was probably a little bit too much of a change, so it threw me off a little bit.
“I went back to my old irons, but I’ve got to get that sorted in the next couple of days. I’ve had Amy [Walsh] on the bag and haven’t seen her for seven weeks, so we had a couple of days together and it’s just nice to see the family and get back to work later in the week.”
