The 20th edition of the Solheim Cup is set to begin this week at Bernardus Golf in Cromvoirt, Netherlands. Two teams of 12 players representing the United States and Europe will compete over three days of match play in the biennial team competition that was last held in 2024.
In 2024, Lilia Vu made a birdie on the 18th hole at Robert Trent Jones Golf Club to clinch the Solheim Cup for the U.S. team. The Americans defeated Europe 15.5 to 12.5 to claim their first Solheim Cup victory since 2017 at Des Moines Golf and Country Club in Iowa.
The Americans have not won the Solheim Cup on European soil since 2015, when Juli Inkster captained the U.S. team to a 14.5 to 13.5 victory in Germany.
