- Charley Hull and Esther Henseleit qualify from LET Solheim Cup Points list
- Lottie Woad, Maja Stark, Celine Boutier, Carlota Ciganda, Linn Grant and Nanna Koerstz Madsen clinch their spots via Rolex Women’s World Golf Rankings
The eight players to automatically qualify for the 2026 European Solheim Cup Team have been confirmed following the conclusion of the AIG Women’s Open.
Team Europe will battle against the U.S. Team in the 20th edition of the Solheim Cup, which will be staged at Bernardus Golf from 11-13 September 2026.
England’s Charley Hull secured the top spot on the LET Solheim Cup Points list with 264.18 points after recording two victories, including the 2026 PIF Saudi Ladies International and five further top-10 finishes during the Qualifying Period.
Hull will be making her eighth Solheim Cup appearance, having made her debut in 2013, and has won 16.5 points in her 27 matches.
“I can’t believe I’ve qualified for my eighth Solheim Cup. I’m very proud to represent Team Europe again in front of the home fans in the Netherlands,” said Hull.
The second spot in the standings was clinched by Germany’s Esther Henseleit with 134 points after two excellent weeks.
Henseleit finished in outright fourth place at the ISPS HANDA Women’s Scottish and as runner-up at the AIG Women’s Open to overtake Switzerland’s Chiara Tamburlini by 0.9 points.
“I’m really happy to be part of the European Solheim Cup Team again,” said Henseleit. “It was a great experience last time out in the U.S. but I’m very excited to be in the team on European soil. With it being so close to Germany, I hope a lot of fans come out and watch.”
Six players have qualified for Team Europe via the Rolex Women’s World Golf Rankings to secure their place at Bernardus, with England’s Lottie Woad leading the way.
22-year-old Woad will be making her Solheim Cup debut in September having only turned professional just over a year ago and with victories on the LET and LPGA Tour under her belt.
“I’m very excited to make my debut at the Solheim Cup,” said Woad. “For my first one to be on European soil is very special, and I’m really looking forward to having all the European fans there.”
Sweden’s Maja Stark and Linn Grant will be making their third Solheim Cup appearances after making their debuts in 2023, and France’s Celine Boutier is set to play in the Solheim Cup for a fifth time.
Spain’s Carlota Ciganda will be competing in her eighth Solheim Cup, having played in every edition since 2013.
“I love the Solheim Cup,” said Ciganda. “It’s my favourite event, and I can’t wait to be back in European colours in front of the European fans. It’s an honour to make my eighth appearance, and I’m excited to be in the Netherlands in September.”
The final player to qualify via the Rolex Women’s World Golf Rankings is Denmark’s Nanna Koerstz Madsen.
It will be a second Solheim Cup appearance for Madsen, who was part of the winning team in 2021, and a first on European soil.
“There is no bigger honour than representing Europe in the Solheim Cup, and I’m excited to make my second appearance for Team Europe,” said Madsen. “I love team golf, and it’s my first Solheim Cup on European soil, so I’m looking forward to seeing all the European fans. I’m excited to be at Bernardus in September.”
Speaking about her team, Captain Anna Nordqvist said: “I am really excited about finalising the 2026 European Solheim Cup Team. It’s been an exciting Qualifying Period, and congratulations to the eight players who have automatically qualified.
“It’s great to have Lottie and a few more rookies making their Solheim Cup debuts this year. The young talent in European golf is strong, and they have been putting in great performances across the Qualifying Period. We also have so much experience on the team, and it will be great to balance the youth with experience. We’re excited to get to Bernardus in September.”
