Staff and players at Yalong Bay Golf Club gathered beside the scoreboard during the first round of the 2015 Sanya Ladies Open to send a message of support to the 2012 champion Cassandra Kirkland, who is unable to play in the tournament this year due to illness.
In 2012, Cassandra ended a six year wait for her first Ladies European Tour title when she came from a stroke behind to claim a two stroke victory over Jade Schaeffer and Holly Aitchison. Since being diagnosed with cancer earlier this year, Cassandra is getting better day by day and everyone on the LET wishes her a speedy recovery.
