Turfgrass, a world leading golf course consultancy company that specialise in golf course project management and agronomy, is delighted to be re-appointed as the official supplier of agronomy to the 16th edition of The Solheim Cup, which will be hosted at the world-famous PGA Centenary Course, Gleneagles, from September 9th – 15th, 2019.
Turfgrass have provided an invaluable and highly effective service as the official agronomists to the European hosting of The Solheim Cup for the past 12 years with the successful delivery of The 2007 Solheim Cup, Halmstad, Sweden, The 2011 Solheim Cup, Killeen Castle, Ireland and The 2015 Solheim Cup, St. Leon-Rot, Germany.
The Turfgrass team will be working with the host venue and very closely with the European Captain, Catriona Matthew MBE and Tournament Director, Davide Lantos, who said: “Turfgrass is long lasting partner of the LET and I am delighted to have them on board to provide agronomy support. I have been honoured to work with John Clarkin and Julian Mooney over the years. Scotland is known as the ‘Home of Golf’ and The Gleneagles Estate as the ‘Riviera of the Highlands’, while Nicklaus himself described his PGA Centenary Course as ‘the finest parcel of land in the world I have ever been given to work with’. This triple acclaim will provide the most magnificent of backdrops for the highlight of the 2019 professional golf calendar. The Solheim Cup will bring together the 12 leading golfers from both Europe and the United States to compete for the illustrious cup at The Gleneagles Hotel, Scotland, in early September.
