Carlota Ciganda returns to the Ladies European Tour (LET) this week following her excellent performance at the 2026 Solheim Cup.
The Spaniard earned the point to win the Cup outright for the European Team with a 4&2 victory over Jennifer Kupcho.
It was Ciganda’s eighth consecutive appearance in the competition and her fifth win as part of Team Europe.
“It was a great week,” said Ciganda. “I love the Solheim Cup. It’s always a fun week for me. I love playing for the team and after the Sunday after winning, it was the icing on the cake.
“We had such a fun week with everyone, all the helpers, caddies and players. It was a week that we won’t forget. The rookies had a good time as well. They played amazing. I was very happy to be part of it.”
Ciganda wasn’t the only Spaniard on the team with rookie Julia Lopez Ramirez joining her in representing Spain and the eight-time LET winner believes the Solheim Cup rookie has a bright future.
The Solheim Cup takes a lot of energy with it being such a busy week, so after flying home to Phoenix, Ciganda spent the next week recovering.
“Julia [Lopez Ramirez] is great. She’s just a kid and I’ve known her the last couple years that she’s been on Tour. I love her energy. I love how she plays; I love how she hits the ball, and she’ll be playing in many Solheim Cups. I was very happy to have her on the team, she was great,” she explained.
“After that week I was really tired. For the next three or four days, I feel like I am like a dead person. I was sleeping everywhere and I didn’t play much golf, I was recovering, watching videos, watching the repeats on TV. It was such a fun week that you are just talking to the girls as well and it takes a week to fully recover.”
Ciganda is making her first appearance at the Aramco Korea Championship which is staged at New Korea Country Club from October 8-11.
Having played well at the Solheim Cup, the eight-time LET winner is hoping to continue her form and momentum into this week in Korea.
“It’s my first time at this golf course; it’s a good setup,” she continued. “The greens are really fast, so I think you want to be below the greens as much as you can. It’s a good course, going to be nice weather. I don’t think the scores will be that low looking at the greens, but we’ll see.
“You have to do everything well. I You have to hit good shots, good shots into greens, to have easier putts if you can, and they have to make putts. It’s a course that you have to do everything well.
“My game is good, I feel I’ve been playing pretty good after Solheim, so trying to get that momentum going. I was in Phoenix last week practising and I’m ready to compete.”
Ciganda will tee it up in the first round of the 2026 Aramco Korea Championship at 7.55 am (local time) alongside American Alison Lee and Korea’s Jeongeun Lee6.
