LET ATHLETES SUPPORT GREEN SPORTS MONTH

Four Ladies European Tour (LET) players, who are all EcoAthletes, are supporting the inaugural Green Sports Month to rally fans to take positive climate action.

EcoAthletes is an organisation which empowers athletes of all levels and gives them the tools to use their platforms to inspire and lead on climate action. LET members Camille Chevalier, Celina Sattelkau, Patricie Mackova and Sara Kouskova are EcoAthlete champions.

Sport has a big cultural influence and the opportunity to engage millions of fans with worldwide messaging and as such EcoAthletes have determined October to be the inaugural Green Sports Month.

A series of in-person, hybrid and virtual events, webinars, podcasts and more will take place which will engage athletes to rally their fans and followers to take and demand real climate action.

One initiative happening is Plogtober which is a mashup of jogging and walking and picking up rubbish along the way. This will help reduce pollution in local areas and serves as a springboard to greater environmental action.

The four LET players will also be wearing green on Thursday of tournament weeks this month highlighting their commitment to sustainability, and have asked fellow LET members to do the same.

The LET highlights sustainability activations through the LET Sustainability Initiative (LETSI), which is about using the power of our players to participate and showcase action and innovation across a range of priority issues such as environmental responsibility, community engagement, and working towards achieving tournament climate neutrality.
