European golfing legend Suzann Pettersen is making a return to competition on the Ladies European Tour (LET) for the second time since announcing her retirement from golf.
The seven-time LET winner produced a ‘mic drop’ moment at the 2019 Solheim Cup holing the winning putt at Gleneagles and then immediately announcing her retirement from the game.
Pettersen then teed it up at the 2022 Aramco Team Series – Jeddah in November 2022 and now, fours year later, she will be teeing it up at the Aramco Korea Championship held at New Korea Country Club from October 8-11.
Since retiring from the game, the Norwegian has been kept busy by her two children, she captained the European Solheim Cup team in 2023 and 2024, and more recently, setting up VOXA – an athlete-first sports talent management group.
With her return to the fairways next week, the two-time Major champion is looking forward to being back inside the ropes and has good memories from South Korea having captured two LPGA victories on Korean soil in 2007 and 2012.
“I decided to play in Korea as I thought it was a good opportunity to be amongst the players again. It’s been a few years since I last teed it up competitively, and I am looking forward to playing next week especially as I have good memories from winning in Korea on the LPGA,” said Pettersen.
“It’s always nice to be back on the LET and I’ve played Golf Saudi events before. I was always impressed by how well they are run and the commitment they are showing to the women’s game. I’ve been outside the ropes at a few tournaments across the year, but I’m excited to see how I feel when I’m back inside the ropes and under tournament conditions.”
