The R&A is introducing a series of new digital experiences for the AIG Women’s Open, giving fans more ways than ever before to discover, follow and connect with the world’s best players during the Championship’s 50th edition.
Whether attending Royal Lytham & St Annes in person or following from around the globe, fans will enjoy a more personalised and immersive Championship experience, with a range of new features designed to bring them closer to the players and every moment of the action.
Leading the newly enhanced digital experience is the ‘Find Your Player’ personality quiz, an interactive feature that matches fans with a player based on their personality and interests before encouraging them to follow their journey throughout Championship week via the mobile app.
The official AIG Women’s Open app has also been enhanced with a new Player Locator, allowing fans to instantly see where competitors are on the course, whether spectating at Royal Lytham & St Annes or watching from home. A new vertical video experience will also deliver more engaging player content in a mobile-first format.
The Championship website, AIGwomensopen.com, has been redesigned with a faster, mobile-optimised experience, making it quicker and easier to access live scoring, news and updates throughout the week. A new weather integration and personalised broadcast information will also help fans plan their day at Royal Lytham & St Annes or quickly find where to watch the Championship wherever they are in the world.
These new digital experiences are complemented by the Championship’s most extensive global broadcast offering to date, ensuring millions of fans across Europe, Asia, Oceania, Africa and North America can follow the action live. Coverage will be available through an extensive network of international broadcast partners, including Sky Sports (United Kingdom), NBC (United States), Fox Sports (Australia), U-Next (Japan), SuperSport (South Africa), Sky (Germany and Italy), Viaplay (Nordics), iQIYI (China), Telefonica (Spain), PCCW (Hong Kong), Sport TV (Portugal), Ziggo (Netherlands), United Media (Balkans), A1 (Bulgaria), ATV (Czechia), SPO (South East Asia), Sky (New Zealand), JTBC (South Korea) and Telenet (Belgium).
For the first time, a dedicated early broadcast window on Thursday and Friday will provide three additional hours of live coverage each day.
Early window coverage, from 9am to 1pm BST, will feature the morning marquee groups with full main coverage, from 1pm to 7pm BST, bringing the best action from across the course to fans around the world. Rounds three and four will be broadcast live for seven hours, from 12pm to 7pm BST, on Saturday and Sunday.
The expanded schedule represents a 20 per cent increase in live broadcast hours compared to 2025 and means the AIG Women’s Open will deliver more linear television broadcast hours than any other women’s major golf championship.
Neil Armit, Chief Commercial Officer at The R&A, said, “The AIG Women’s Open is about celebrating the world’s best players and inspiring more people to engage with women’s golf. Every enhancement we’ve introduced this year has been designed with that in mind.
“Whether you’re attending Royal Lytham & St Annes or following from the other side of the world, we want fans to feel closer to the players than ever before. From discovering a new favourite through our ‘Find Your Player’ experience to following every shot through enhanced live coverage and personalised digital experiences, we’re making it easier than ever to connect with the AIG Women’s Open.
“As we celebrate the Championship’s 50th edition, we’re continuing to set the standard for women’s golf by delivering more linear television coverage in the UK and US than any other women’s golf championship. Combined with an extensive global broadcast network and innovative digital experiences, we’re making it easier than ever for fans everywhere to connect with our players and experience the AIG Women’s Open.”
The AIG Women’s Open will be played at Royal Lytham & St Annes from 29 July – 2 August 2026.
