Of the 19 Ladies European Tour (LET) events completed in 2025, there have been two historic wins by players who were still amateurs.
England’s Lottie Woad stormed to victory at the 2025 KPMG Women’s Irish Open beating Solheim Cup stars including Charley Hull, Madelene Sagström, Leona Maguire and Anna Nordqvist.
Last week, Sweden’s Meja Örtengren joined the list securing a one-stroke victory at the Hills Open in front of a home crowd including her family.
Winning a professional golf tournament as an amateur is no mean feat, but it is something that happens every so often and has happened 15 times in the history of the LET.
World number one Jeeno Thitikul won twice in Thailand as an amateur in 2017 and 2019, respectively.
Similarly, Olympic gold medallist Lydia Ko also secured victory in her homeland back in 2013 before turning professional later that year.
