MAJOR WEEK RETURNS TO EVIAN RESORT GOLF CLUB

The Amundi Evian Championship, the fourth Major of the year and the only Major in continental Europe, returns to the fairways of the Evian Resort Golf Club in Evian-les-Bains, France, from Thursday July 10 through to Sunday July 13.

The 31st edition will see a prize fund of US $8 million, including US $1.2 million for the winner. The 132-player field features 32 nationalities and 47 of the top 50 players the Rolex Women’s World Golf Rankings.

Japan’s Ayaka Furue returns as defending champion where she won her first major championship by a single shot last year, ahead of two-time LET winner Stephanie Kyriacou of Australia. The 25-year-old holed an impressive eagle from 15 feet on the final green, to finish 19-under par after 72 holes.

Furue is one of nine former champions in the field this week who also include Celine Boutier (2023) who returns to her home crowd, Canada’s Brooke Henderson (2022), Australia’s Minjee Lee (2021), South Korea’s Jin Young Ko (2019), Anna Nordqvist from Sweden and Team Europe Solheim Cup Captain (2017), South Korea’s In Gee Chun (2016), New Zealand’s Lydia Ko (2015) and South Korea’s Hyo-Joo Kim (2014).

They are Wales’ Darcey Harry, England’s Mimi Rhodes and Cara Gainer, France’s Nastasia Nadaud, Germany’s Helen Briem, Czechia’s Sara Kouskova, Morocco’s Maha Haddioui and South Africa’s Casandra Alexander.

At the top of the Rolex Rankings list, Nelly Korda (USA) is firmly established as world number one, with two major victories to her name (Chevron Championship, 2024 and Women’s PGA Championship, 2021). Just behind her is her Thailand’s Jeeno Thitikul who’s had a great start to her 2025 campaign winning both the PIF Saudi Ladies International and Mizuho Americas Open. Behind her, the other players in the field are all vying to shine, from New Zealand’s Lydia Ko, world number three and reigning Olympic champion, to China’s Ruoning Yin.

A total of six amateur players, with an average age of 19, will also be lining up at the start of The Amundi Evian Championship, led by England’s Lottie Woad (21), current amateur world number one.

In 2025, two new experiences will enhance the ticket offers. The 16th ticket, a true golden ticket, opens the doors to the Major within a dedicated space at the heart of The Champions Course. The Live-Fitting Callaway ticket combines the pleasure of competition with personal performance improvement alongside brand experts, at the heart of the Academy, the official practice area.

Players and caddies will be encouraged to wear pink or have a pink touch for the final round with the ‘Pink Sunday’ initiative staying for the tournament.

All four rounds of the Amundi Evian Championship will broadcast around the world and on the LET YouTube channel. Further details to follow.
