Trichat Cheenglab is looking forward to the challenge of a brand-new course this week, as the Dutch Ladies Open heads to Goyer Golf & Country Club for the first time. The event also marks the start of the 2025 European swing on the Ladies European Tour (LET) calendar.
The tournament holds special meaning for the 29-year-old Thai star, who captured her maiden LET title at the Dutch Ladies Open in 2023. She missed last year’s edition while competing on the LPGA Tour, making this return even more meaningful.
“This tournament means a lot to me — I have so many great memories here,” Cheenglab shared. “I still remember standing over my winning putt on the 18th green. That moment gave me a lot of confidence and really kickstarted my career.”
Despite the excitement, the LET winner acknowledges the course poses a unique challenge.
“I love playing new courses, and this one definitely keeps you thinking. The greens and fairways are tricky,” she said. “It doesn’t exactly suit my game – I like to hit a lot of drivers, and the greens are really tough – but I’m going to focus on giving myself as many birdie chances as I can.”
Reflecting on her season so far, Cheenglab admitted: “It hasn’t been the best start, but my main goal is to finish in the top 10 on the Order of Merit again – and of course, I’d love to pick up a second win on Tour.”
Away from the course, the 29-year-old is also excited to revisit Amsterdam. “Last time, I spent quite a bit of time exploring the city. This year, I’m hoping to finally visit the Van Gogh Museum. I don’t often get to enjoy much art, so I’m really looking forward to that experience.”
The Thai star will be playing round one at 1:23pm local time on Friday, alongside Australia’s Kirsten Rudgeley and England’s Liz Young.
