- Top-10 Order of Merit player on the LET sets sights on sporting success and wider positive impact
Ladies European Tour (LET) professional Sára Kousková is playing her part for golf, people and the planet with a special Earth Day announcement.
The Czech star is one of a growing number of elite golfers to step forward to use their influence to advocate for environmental and social responsibility, in and through golf.
Harnessing the Sustainable Golf Champion program developed and run by the international non-profit GEO Sustainable Golf Foundation, and which is presented in partnership with the LET, Sára is establishing a credible position to help raise awareness, educate and inspire fans and followers.
Speaking about the new position Sára said: “Like a lot of golfers I have always been interested in and passionate about the state of the environment, and also the link with the communities who benefit from it. So now, with an opportunity as an elite athlete in sport, I’d like to use my position to help flag up some of the issues we all face; encourage more action across golf as the sport we all love; and if possible even have wider influence.
“I’m excited to progress with a number of communications ideas and initiatives that build on existing communications and the annual climate investments that I am making. The Champions program and the expertise provided by the GEO Sustainable Golf Foundation has been so valuable. I’m also delighted that it is a major contribution to the LET Sustainability Initiative (LETSI).”

Jonathan Smith, Executive Director of GEO Sustainable Golf Foundation added: “This is just the sort of leadership golf, the environment and communities need. Influential athletes who genuinely care about their own and their sport’s impact. We are proud to support Sára and the LET as they take practical, authentic and inspiring steps help drive sustainable golf further – for the good of society, golf, their Tours and their own brands.”
Eva-Lotta Strömlid, Head of Client Partnerships at the LET, said: “First and foremost we’d like to congratulate and thank Sára for stepping forward to help champion sustainability in and through golf. It’s such an important subject for golf as a whole and for the LET community. Alongside GEO, we look forward to helping support and amplify Sára’s messages and connecting it to the wider platform of LETSI as it grows with more partners, tournaments, venues and players.”
The Sustainable Golf Champion program was developed by the Foundation in conjunction with leading players and Tours over recent years. It enables players to credibly mitigate the impacts of their unavoidable travel, through climate investments with the Foundation’s partners at The Gold Standard; learn more about key sustainability priorities; and hone their advocacy and calls to action for different audiences.
