The 2021 Solheim Cup is closing in fast and with just over two months to go the battle for players to seal their place on Team Europe continues.

The Tipsport Czech Ladies Open was the fifth event of the LET’s 2021 schedule and Finland’s Sanna Nuutinen produced another excellent performance.

The 30-year-old carded a sensational final round of 64, which included an extraordinary hole-in-one at the par-four ninth, to secure yet another top-ten result as she finished T6.

So far this season the Finn has showed consistency is key with T8 at the Investec SA Women’s Open, T10 at the Ladies Italian Open, T3 at the Jabra Ladies Open and T18 at the Scandinavian Mixed.

Nuutinen now has 69.75 points in the Solheim Cup standings and is just 0.25 points behind England’s Alice Hewson who sits in the second automatic qualifying spot.

On the other side of the Atlantic, it was the third Major of the year as Atlanta Athletic Club played host to the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship.

One of the stars from Europe’s 2019 Solheim Cup victory was Celine Boutier, who made her debut in the competition and had a perfect week winning all four points available to her.

The Frenchwoman put in a big performance in Atlanta which saw her finish T7. As a result, she collected 27 points and has risen from 25th to eighth place in the standings.

Denmark’s Nanna Koerstz Madsen ended the tournament T15 alongside Sweden’s Madelene Sagstrom, Germany’s Esther Henseleit and Ireland’s Leona Maguire.

With seven more points added to her tally, the Danish golfer remains in fourth place in the standings but is now just 1.5 points behind Nuutinen and 1.75 points adrift of Hewson.
