It’s been a consistent start to the season for Chiara Tamburlini, who has recorded four top-10 finishes in her last four events on the Ladies European Tour (LET) in 2025.
After a steady start at the Lalla Meryem Cup in Morocco, the 25-year-old finished in T8 at the PIF Saudi Ladies International, as well as T6 at both the Joburg Ladies Open and Investec South African Women’s Open in April.
Last time out, Tamburlini finished as runner-up in the Individual event at the Aramco Korea Championship after a final round of 68 (-4).
The Swiss star was at home last week, and although she was ill for some of that, she is ready to enjoy the 2025 Jabra Ladies Open at Evian Resort Golf Club.
“I was at home for a few days, although I was in bed as I haven’t been very well, but I’m very excited to be back here,” she said.
“My game has been feeling pretty good for the last couple of events. I’ve been doing some more work this past week with my short game coach to get that dialled in especially with the U.S. Women’s Open next week.
“I have good memories here; I love this place – I really do! I came back here for Amundi Evian Championship after Jabra and this place is just incredible. I would say it’s my favourite stop of the year. My mum is going to be on the bag again like last year, which is going to be fun because we always have a good time together.
“I would definitely say it feels a little bit like a home event. I’m here with my own car, it’s three-and-a-half-hour drive from home. I remember last year, as well there were a couple people from Switzerland who came and watched.”
Having won the LET Order of Merit and Rookie of the Year titles in 2024, Tamburlini has more opportunities to play in the United States in 2025 and next week she will be teeing it up at the U.S. Women’s Open thanks to her Rolex Women’s World Golf Ranking.
The three-time LET winner spent some time working on her short game last week in preparation for the U.S., but also didn’t want to miss the opportunity to play at the Jabra Ladies Open.
She continued: “I’m going to have to skip quite a few LET events coming up which I’m super excited to go and play in the U.S. and I’m in a good position to be able decide to do that.
“I’m very fortunate with the opportunities, but it’s definitely a bit different planning and not playing everything. I really wanted to play this one and it’s perfect with it ending on a Saturday as well because Sunday can by the travel day before the major next week.
“I have been working with my short game coach for one and a half years now, it’s just constantly trying to level up. Short game is something you can always acquire more skills, different shots, understanding lies and clubs better, and how you can make the club perform the best.
“That was the main focus, and we were specifically working on some rough shots for next week’s USWO. That was a good catch up, I hadn’t seen him since January.”
Tamburlini didn’t just spend last week working on her game, as she also took part in a sponsor just across the lake from Evian-les-Bains in Lausanne.
She added: “I did have a sponsor day in Lausanne just across the lake. It was an initiative where 42 sports came together, and you could try all these sports for free at different stations. I was showing kids and adults how to grip a club, what the different clubs are and showed them a few different shots. It was really fun and wholesome!”
The LET Order of Merit winner knows her way around Evian Resort Golf Club with her T2 finish at the 2024 Jabra Ladies Open and T55 at the 2024 edition of The Amundi Evian Championship.
Tamburlini is keeping her game plan simple to finish in top spot aiming to be in the fairway, being in the right places on the greens and knowing where to miss.
“The rough is going to be a bit thinner than when I last played it at Evian, but it’s still really good to be in the fairway and placing the ball on the greens because the greens are very undulated,” she added.
“They’re probably going to be okay speed wise, but still if you’re in the correct spots, that will make your life a lot easier. I think that’s going to be the main thing and trying to understand again, where the best misses are and all these things.”
