SUSTAINABLE ACTIVATIONS SHOWCASED AT PIF LONDON CHAMPIONSHIP

Sustained Futures

Lots of sustainable initiatives were on show throughout the week at the PIF London Championship held at Centurion Club between 8-10 August.

The LET and LET Access Series (LETAS) is committed to recognising and promoting great sustainable work being done by the LET community as part of the Tour’s sustainability initiative in partnership with GEO Foundation for Sustainable Golf.

Sustained Futures were on site during the tournament days hosting a range of workshops covering sports, sustainability, and career pathways, including sessions on biodiversity, employability in sport, and how young people can influence sustainable change.

The workshops took place in a dedicated tent in the fan village and saw participants listen to career talks given by event staff including the LET’s Head of Client Partnerships Eva-Lotta Strömlid.

They also had an ecology tour across Centurion Club, which gave participants the chance to explore the local environment and better understand the links between nature, sustainability and community wellbeing.

G4D, which was launched in 2022, also had a meet-up with Women’s Golf For Disabled on Saturday to watch the action and experience a clinic on the range with an LET pro.

There were also panel sessions across the week and Friday’s Change in Conversation panel saw Rugby World Cup finalist Shaunagh Brown, Olympic champion Jade Jones, Commonwealth medallist Pamela Cookey and European medallist Stacey Copeland talk about the media’s role in shaping perceptions of women in sport.
