Luna Sobron Galmes finished in a share of second-place at last week’s Tipsport Czech Ladies Open ending the week two shots behind winner Casandra Alexander.
The Spaniard produced rounds of 67 (-5) every day at Royal Beroun Golf Club to record her best finish on the Ladies European Tour (LET).
It was her fourth top-10 finish of the season for the 31-year-old, who sits 14th in the LET Order of Merit.
“I played really well, I shot five-under, but Casandra [Alexander] shot 10-under and there’s nothing you can do about that,” she said.
“She played really good and I’m happy for her. Every tournament, I’m getting closer to winning so I’m very happy. I was very calm and patient because I started with five pars. I needed to chip-in at the last and it was close to going in, but it was a little bit to the left.
“I have the experience and the game; I’m getting closer to winning. It’s near and I want to be at the top at every tournament. I have confidence heading into Germany this week.”
Sobron Galmes, who is in search of her maiden LET title, heads to Germany this week for the 2025 Amundi German Masters.
The tournament, which was added to the LET schedule in 2022, is in a different location this year with Green Eagle Golf Courses in Hamburg being the host venue.
A field of 132 players will tackle the North Course, which is also known as the ‘Green Monster’ and was a venue on the DP World Tour between 2017 and 2024.
Sobron Galmes says the course is the opposite to what she played last week in Czech, however, she’s still looking forward to the challenge.
She explained: “A totally different golf course! If the wind is strong, you have to be in play always because every shot there is a water hazard.
“This course is different; I like it because it’s difficult. It’s the opposite to last week. You have to play well here and the greens are very undulating with a lot of slope, so you have to stay patient and play shot by shot.
“The long game I think will be the key here. If you miss the fairways, you have to miss in the good places. I’m looking forward to the challenge.”
Sobron Galmes will tee it up in the first round on Thursday at 7.51 am (local time) alongside England’s Alice Hewson and South Africa’s Lee-Anne Pace.
