- Tan becomes the first player from Singapore to win the crown
Singapore’s Shannon Tan secured the 2025 Order of Merit title at the season finale of the Ladies European Tour (LET) – the Andalucía Costa del Sol Open de España presented by Oysho.
The season-long competition concluded in Spain with Tan and England’s Mimi Rhodes going head-to-head for the number one spot at the end of 2025.
In a nail-biting finale, it was Tan who came out on top after a T16 finish in Spain as she clinched the title accumulating 2,461.74 points from 22 events and ultimately finishing 183.01 points ahead of Rhodes, who was second.
“It’s been a great season,” said Tan. “Comparing this year to last year, I think I’ve improved quite a lot and with it being my second year on Tour I have learned a lot from last year as well.
“This wouldn’t have happened without all the people who have been there throughout my whole career. I want to thank my parents, my coach, my manager and my caddie Simon – who has been great this year – and to the LET and everyone who makes all the tournaments possible. I’m really thankful for everything.”
Tan is a trailblazer for her home nation of Singapore becoming the first player to secure full playing rights on the LET after she qualified through Lalla Aicha Q-School in December 2023.
She then won the opening event of the 2024 season in her LET debut as a professional and represented Singapore at the 2024 Summer Olympic Games in Paris last year.
In her second season on Tour, Tan secured two victories with the first at the Amundi German Masters in June followed by the Hero Women’s Indian Open in October, the latter propelled her to the top of the rankings.
The 21-year-old also recorded six further top-10 and five top-20 finishes on the LET throughout 2025 underlining her consistency on the golf course and becomes the first player from Singapore to win the LET Order of Merit.
“It means a lot to be the first person from Singapore to win the Order of Merit on the LET,” added Tan. “Hopefully, that gets juniors back home to try out golf and more will come through and play professionally as well.
“It’s always great to have one person that’s done it and it shows that it’s possible. It pushes me to do my best and I want to be a role model for everyone back home.”
Marta Figueras-Dotti, LET Board Chair, said: “I want to congratulate Shannon on winning the LET Order of Merit after an outstanding second season on Tour. Shannon is a deserving winner, and we are delighted to present her with the award. It takes grit and determination to win this prestigious title, and Shannon has shown consistency throughout the 2025 season. This title is a further reward for the hard work she has put in to become a champion.”
