With just one more day remaining of her sustainable travel journey from Sweden to the Netherlands, Eva-Lotta Strömlid met Dutch Ladies Open promoter Jelle Sprée as she prepared for the final day.
The Head of Client Partnerships at the LET cycled 80 km on day four, starting in Twello and ending the day in Den Dolder, ready to arrive at the 2026 Solheim Cup venue – Bernardus Golf – on Monday.
Lotta decided to embark on this sustainable travel journey as part of the LET Sustainability Initiative (LETSI) and to mark the celebrations of one year to go until the 2026 Solheim Cup.
Meeting up with Sprée, who is the promoter for the Dutch Ladies Open and works for the NGF, was always part of the plan for Lotta.
She explained: “I really feel like I’m home. Jelle has had a big impact on me when it comes to sustainability. The promoters do what is best for their tournaments based on their different objectives, but Jelle has always been at the forefront in coming up with different ideas to make his event as sustainable as possible.
“I have been coming to the Dutch Ladies Open tournament and supporting their work. We have shared a lot of ideas, and they work a lot on recycled materials, water consumption and just being positive and trying to change things step by step.”

Throughout the journey from Sweden to the Netherlands, Lotta has had limited luggage with her and taken a minimalistic approach to packing, as she has only three shirts, one set of ‘civilian’ clothes, two tights, and underwear with her.
She also has snacks for the nutrition she needs on the bike, a first aid kit, a repair kit, electronics such as phone chargers, power banks etc. and flip flops.
“The packing has been so important for this whole trip,” Lotta explained. “I have been very minimalistic in everything. I have good stuff, but very few things with me.
“I have just been bringing the snacks I need, having the type of clothes I need and washing them in the evening so I can reuse them. The planning process of this journey has been very important. Preparation has been the key, and it becomes effortless, as you just follow your plan.”
With just one more leg of the monumental journey remaining, Lotta spoke to 2026 European Solheim Cup captain Anna Nordqvist on Sunday evening.
She will be joined for the final part of the journey by both Nordqvist and Angela Stanford – U.S. Team Solheim Cup captain – as they make their way to Bernardus Golf.
Lotta added: “I had a nice talk with Anna [Nordqvist] now, she is in the lodge at Bermardus and it’s really cool that I will see her tomorrow. I look forward to seeing her and my daughter and everyone else, who is with them and has been so supportive.”
