RHODES EYES HISTORIC HAT-TRICK

England’s Mimi Rhodes continues to make waves on the Ladies European Tour (LET). In just her rookie season, she’s already made a statement by securing her second LET title at the Joburg Ladies Open last week, following her maiden victory at the Ford Women’s NSW Open.

After securing a dominant victory in Australia, winning by two shots, Rhodes followed it up with another strong performance in Johannesburg, proving that her debut success was no fluke.

The 23-year-old could make history this week by winning the Investec SA Women’s Open at Erinvale Golf & Country Estate. A victory would make Rhodes the first rookie to secure three consecutive wins on the LET.

A hat-trick of wins would be unbelievable”, said the rookie. “I’m obviously not thinking that far ahead. I’ve just got to take one day at a time and stay in the present. So far, I’m so proud of how far I’ve got this year and to see my work finally paying off.”

I’m really excited with where my game is at, and it’s given me a lot of confidence for the rest of the season. I’m still on a high and can’t wait to celebrate when I get home”, said the 23-year-old.

I’ve received so many messages from home – still today I’m trying to get back to people. The support is just overwhelming and it’s so nice to know that back home they’ve been watching. Luckily there’s not much time difference, so my family haven’t had to stay up all night. It’s just very nice to have the support”, she continued.

Commenting on the course, the Order of Merit leader said: “The course is really nice. It’s definitely different to last week in Joburg – drier for sure. I like the back nine, you’ve got to place yourself on the tee and the greens are really big. The views are immaculate, so I’ve taken plenty of videos on the course.”

Rhodes, who is staying with fellow LET player Lily May Humphreys again this week, had a couple of days off following her win in Johannesburg: “I’m still a bit tired – took a nap yesterday. I’m feeling energised today, so we’ll just take one day at a time.”

It’s been an excellent six months for Rhodes, who was part of the winning Great Britain & Ireland team at the 2024 Curtis Cup, before securing victory at the Lavaux Ladies Open on the LET Access Series (LETAS), and now winning on the LET. She was also named LET’s Player of the Month for March 2025, voted for by the fans on LET’s Instagram.

Rhodes will be playing round one at 12:45pm (local time) tomorrow, alongside last week’s runner up Casandra Alexander, and Germany’s Helen Briem.
