RHODES ENJOYING FIRST VISIT TO EVIAN AFTER THIRD LET WIN

Mimi Rhodes

It’s been a whirlwind 2025 for England’s Mimi Rhodes as she won her third Ladies European Tour (LET) title last week.

The 23-year-old recorded a two-stroke victory at the 2025 Dutch Ladies Open – her third win in just four starts on Tour.

It was an emotional victory for Rhodes, who had her brother watching on from the 18th green at Goyer Golf and Country Club.

“I think the atmosphere around the 18th was really good, there were quite a lot of people around the green and in the clubhouse and to have family there as well was extra special,” she said.

“I got a bit emotional. I think the whole day I was trying to stay in the lead and not drop any shots, and it was a bit of a mental challenge out there. To get it done on the 18th stress-free was a relief.

“Joburg was tight as well because I only had a one-shot lead, I think I was more in the zone there because I was under so much pressure at the end. This time I was looking at the leaderboard and everyone had finished and was in the clubhouse.

“It was up to me whether I dropped shots or not. I think it was a different mindset; I could show a bit more out there. I’m proud I kept it going and could get it done.

“It was really special because I hadn’t cried for the other two wins. As soon as I hugged him [my brother], I just started bawling. Especially because he doesn’t get too much time to come watch me do my job and he took time off work, so it was definitely worth him taking that time off. To have their support those three days and to have someone there was really nice.”

Rhodes, who is in her rookie season, has now secured three LET wins in three different continents in the last three months.

The Wake Forest graduate leads both the LET Order of Merit and Rookie of the Year standings with a total of 1,546.88 points.

“It was really cool to win in a different country and different continent,” she continued. “I’m just going into every week, honestly not expecting anything like that’s been happening.

“It’s been really crazy, a bit of a rollercoaster – a good one! It’s given me the confidence that I need going into summer and the big events. It’s shown me that even I haven’t got all my good stuff, I can still get it done.”

This week’s 2025 Jabra Ladies Open is taking place at Evian Resort Golf Club and will see 132 players teeing it up in a 54-hole stroke play competition, with a cut to the top-60 professionals and ties at the 36-hole mark.

It is the first time Rhodes has played on this golf course, which will also host The Amundi Evian Championship in July.

However, the English star believes the Champions Course will suit her game and is looking forward to the week ahead.

She added: “It’s my first time here at the golf course, I played nine yesterday and nine today. I think it really suits my game because I don’t think it advantages the longer players as much.

“You have to be strategic and plan yourself around the greens. There are a lot of different slopes, different quadrants in the green. You’ve got to put the ball in the right place and the greens are really looking nice, nice and smooth. I think I just need to drive the ball well, which is usually my strength and put the ball in the right place, but it’s giving good vibes.

“I’ve got my caddie this week, who I will have at The Amundi Evian Championship, so it’s good to prep with him and get good vibes. After the event, just re-evaluate see what we did well and go from there.

“One of the caddies said that Dougie was with Nicole [Garcia] before and she’s on a medical, so he was available, so I snatched him up before anyone else did. The vibes are good, he’s got the chat, so we’ll see if he gives me the right numbers.”
