RACE TO COSTA DEL SOL SET FOR DRAMATIC CONCLUSION

Things could not be tighter at the top of the Race to Costa del Sol standings with only two events now remaining in the 2023 Ladies European Tour (LET) schedule.

After an entertaining October on the LET, one which saw the circuit travel to Hong Kong, India, and Saudi Arabia, just 173.81 points now separate the top four in the rankings meaning the stage is set for a dramatic conclusion in Spain.

Still out in front is France’s Celine Boutier, winner of both The Amundi Evian Championship and FREED-Group Women’s Scottish Open presented by Trust Golf, with the French star now holding a slender lead on 1,792.88 points.

Hot on her heels is India’s Diksha Dagar on 1,720.61 points. Having had a highly consistent 2023, the left-handed star continued her fine form in October making the cut at both Aramco Team Series presented by PIF events either side of a third place finish at her home tournament – the Hero Women’s Indian Open.

Collecting 230.00 points for the feat, Dagar was able to catapult from fourth to second in the standings to sit just 72.27 points off the Major winning Boutier.

Also making a significant jump last month was Thailand’s Trichat Cheenglab. The Thai rookie has been targeting a top three finish in the rankings ever since winning the Big Green Egg Open in September, and her quest made significant strides in October as she placed T6 in Hong Kong, T24 in India, and fourth in Riyadh to surge into third spot on 1,641.72 points.

In fourth position on 1,619.07 points is Johanna Gustavsson, the Swede still riding high on confidence after winning her long-awaited maiden LET title at the Lacoste Ladies Open de France in September.

One back from her is Spain’s Ana Pelaez Trivino on 1,487.20 points. Despite a difficult two months, the 25-year-old will have renewed energy heading into November as she tees up in not one, but two home events at the Mallorca Ladies Open and Andalucia Costa del Sol Open de Espana.

Another Indian, Aditi Ashok, is in sixth place on 1,309.19 points, while Sweden’s Linn Grant is in seventh spot on 1,276.28 points. Both stars have committed to playing in the final event of the season in Andalucia, meaning a win could give either a huge chance at finishing inside the top three.

Czechia’s Klara Davidson Spilkova is eighth with 1,243.46 points, with the English duo of Charley Hull and Gabriella Cowley making up the top 10 on 1,215.00 and 1,209.04 points respectively.

Hull, winner of the LET Order of Merit in 2014, made a massive move last week at Aramco Team Series – Riyadh jumping eight places after finishing third in the Individual event.

With just two events left in the 2023 Race to Costa del Sol, it’s now all to play for with the top three players receiving a bonus pool and the top 10 given the opportunity to tee up at the Final Stage of LPGA Q-Series. The full standings can be found here.

The Race to Costa del Sol continues in two weeks with the inaugural Mallorca Ladies Open at Golf Son Muntaner.
