Moving Day at the AIG Women’s British Open

The third round of the AIG Women’s British Open is under way over the Marquess’ Course at Woburn.

The halfway leader Ashleigh Buhai took a three stroke lead into the weekend and has her game face on.

The 30-year-old from Johannesburg turned professional in 2007 and has three titles on the LET, but is attempting to win her first major.

Carlota Ciganda from Spain was her closest challenger after nine holes. The three-time Solheim Cup player birdied the first and sixth holes and then eagled the long seventh to get to 10-under-par.

World No.1 Jin-Young Ko, looking for her third major title of the season, following wins at the ANA Inspiration and Evian Championship, has moved to nine-under alongside Japan’s Hinako Shibuno.

Anna Nordvqvist, Ariya Jutanugarn, the 2016 champion at Woburn, Caroline Masson, Celine Boutier, Sung Hyun Park and Lizette Salas are all in the mix.

The defending champion Georgia Hall birdied the second but missed a short birdie putt on the par-3 eighth hole.
