LET ORDER OF MERIT LEADER ALEXANDER EXCITED FOR A BIG WEEK AT ARAMCO CHAMPIONSHIP

Casandra Alexander

South Africa’s Casandra Alexander is looking forward to the challenge of teeing it up at this week’s Aramco Championship held at Shadow Creek.

The LET winner has recorded four top-10 finishes from her four starts on the Ladies European Tour (LET) in 2026 including two runner-up results.

Thanks to her excellent start to 2026, Alexander has climbed up to number 42 in the Rolex Women’s World Golf Rankings and leads the LET Order of Merit with 815.83 points.

“It’s been a good start to the year, four top-10s is pretty good but there’s still no wins,” she said. “I’m being patient on that front.

“But it’s still early in the season and a lot can happen. There’s a lot of good players out here, so we will wait and see.”

Alexander flew from the Australian swing straight to Las Vegas and has spent the week exploring with her husband Adrian.

The 26-year-old always turns up for big tournaments whether that be Major championships or the PIF Global Series events.

She thrives on playing with the best in the world and this week at Shadow Creek will be no exception.

“My husband flew from South Africa because I did the Australian stretch by myself while he was making sure the house didn’t go sideways,” she continued. “We’ve spent the week here and it was nice.

“We went to some car museums, went to the casino, but it’s Vegas so you have to do it. We took it easy, did some practice but it’s nice to be here and this golf course in unbelievable. It’s going to be a good course and I’m excited to be here in Vegas. It’s a good field, a big tournament and I like those, so hopefully I can do well.

“All the best players in the world are here and I enjoy that. I like competing against the best and it’s going to be a big week with that. Everyone’s great players and all the LET players out here are the top-ranked. It’s going to be a big week.”

The 2026 Aramco Championship, which is co-sanctioned by the LET and LPGA Tour for the first time, takes place April 2-5 in Las Vegas.

Shadow Creek has previously hosted the LPGA Match Play tournament and is notoriously tricky.

However, Alexander is looking forward to the test and knows she will have to be at her best to succeed this week.

She added: “It’s spectacular, probably the best golf course I’ve ever seen so far. It’s going to test every aspect of your game. You can’t just hit a good shot off the tee and think your irons are going to average.

“Everything is going to be tested this week, I’m quite excited. I think it’s going to expose a lot of weaknesses in players and that’s what this course is designed for. It’s going to be long and hopefully, the weather can play along. It’s going to be a testing week for everyone and a lot of patience is needed out there.

“I played nine this morning and practised in the wind. It’s tricky but it also makes some holes easier with holes playing downwind. It’s a win-lose situation. Approach shots are going to have be tidy though because the greens are slopy and tricky and the wind makes it more intense.”

Alexander will tee it up in round one at 7.55 am (local time) alongside Australia’s Kelsey Bennett and Sweden’s Anna Nordqvist.
