After a quick break the Ladies European Tour (LET) is in Ireland this week for the 2026 KPMG Women’s Irish Open.
Voted tournament of the year in 2025, this year the KPMG Women’s Irish Open will be staged at the iconic K Club on the par-72 Palmer South course. It is the first time the LET has been to the prestigious venue located in Kildare. The Palmer South is an inland links course combining a variety of interesting landscapes with dune-style mounding and dramatic rock features throughout.
Play gets underway on Thursday 27 August with the winner being crowned on Sunday 30 August. A purse of €450,000 is on offer in the 21st event of the 2026 season.
A field of 132 players from 34 nationalities will be taking to the fairways in Ireland.
This includes 16 Irish players, a number made up of 11 professionals and five amateurs. This figure marks the strongest home representation in the tournament’s history. Solheim Cup star Leona Maguire will be leading the home charge alongside Lauren Walsh, Sara Byrne, Aine Donegan, Anna Foster, Canice Screene, Olivia Mehaffey, Beth Coulter and Annabel Wilson.
Elsewhere, 33 LET winners will be competing at The K Club looking to add more silverware to their trophy cabinet. This includes current Order of Merit leader Casandra Alexander from South Africa, reigning Order of Merit winner Shannon Tan from Singapore, and four-time LET winner Alexandra Försterling from Germany.
The most recent winner on tour, Eleanor Givens from England, is also in the field fresh from winning the VP Bank Swiss Ladies Open. Givens secured a one-shot victory in Switzerland in her 210th appearance on tour.
Unfortunately 2025 champion Lottie Woad is not back in Ireland to defend her title as she tees up on the LPGA Tour. 2023 champion, Smilla Tarning Soenderby, is in Ireland once again. The Dane is already a winner this season having claimed the inaugural MCB Ladies Classic – Mauritius.
New Zealand’s Amelia Garvey is the best placed player from the 2025 edition teeing up this week. The 26-year-old finished solo third at Carton House last year. You can hear all about her love for Ireland on Episode 4 of the LET Unfiltered podcast. The full entry list can be found here.
