Following a short break, the Ladies European Tour (LET) returns this week for the 17th staging of the Hero Women’s Indian Open.
It is the 24th event of the 2025 LET season and will see a field of 114 players representing 32 nationalities tee it up at the challenging DLF Golf and Country Club.
The Gary Player designed par-72 championship course provides a tough test featuring picturesque elevation and several water hazards.
This year sees an elevated prize fund of $500,000 USD for the field which is made up of 10 invitations, 70 LET players and 34 players from the Women’s Golf Association of India.
England’s Liz Young was victorious last time out securing her second LET title securing a one-stroke victory ahead of four players in 2024.
The two-time LET winner is back to defend her crown and is joined by 2017 champion Camille Chevalier of France.
2024 LET Order of Merit winner Chiara Tamburlini is in attendance this week and has been in good form all year recording nine top-10 finishes this season.
Five winners from the 2025 season will be teeing it up with English duo Alice Hewson and Mimi Rhodes alongside Singapore’s Shannon Tan, Czechia’s Sara Kouskova and Canada’s Anna Huang.
With just four events of the LET season remaining, the battle to crown the number one player is heating up and three of the top four players on the Order of Merit are in attendance.
England’s Rhodes, who leads both the Order of Merit and Rookie of the Year, leads Singapore’s Tan by 209.54 points with Czechia’s Kouskova 498.76 behind the three-time LET winner.
It’s also a crucial week for those players aiming to keep their card by finishing in the top 70 of the Order of Merit, as the next two events have limited fields meaning this could be their last chance to accrue some points.
A total of 29 Indian players will be teeing it up on home soil and they are led by two-time LET winner Diksha Dagar, as well as Tvesa Malik, Pranavi Urs and Avani Prashanth.
