LET BACK AT EVIAN FOR FIRST OF THE EUROPEAN MAJORS

The first of the European majors is upon us as the Ladies European Tour (LET) heads to Evian Resort Golf Club for the second time this season.

After being here in May for the Jabra Ladies Open, the LET is back at Evian for The Amundi Evian Championship.

It is the 10-year anniversary of the tournament becoming a major on the LPGA Tour with European Solheim Cup captain Suzann Pettersen being the first winner back in 2013.

There will be 132 players teeing it up with a cut to the top-65 and ties after 36 holes with the winner being crowned on Sunday July 30.

The best players on the world have descended on Evian with all the top 10 on the Rolex Women’s World Golf Rankings in attendance.

Defending champion Brooke Henderson is back at the scene of her victory in 2022 and ready to try and retain her title in France.

There are four players from France playing this week including Solheim Cup star and three-time LPGA Tour winner Celine Boutier as well as two-time LET winner Pauline Roussin.

Nine of the top 10 in the 2023 Race to Costa del Sol are playing this week hoping to add more points to their tally with 875 points on offer for the winner.

Spain’s Ana Peláez Trivino continues to the lead the way in the standings ahead of India’s Aditi Ashok and Czechia’s Klara Davidson Spilkova.

There are 11 players who are teeing it up this week who have won on the LET in 2023 including Linn Grant, who won the Jabra Ladies Open on this course two months ago.

Switzerland’s Albane Valenzuela, who sits ninth in the LET Rookie of the Year standings, will be hoping to improve her position with a good finish at Evian.
