Celine Herbin gets to stay in her own home and her own bed this week while playing on the Ladies European Tour (LET).
After seeing and playing at La Sella Golf, the French player decided to move here and represent the golf club.
With this now being her home course, Herbin is excited to be able to play the €1,000,000 La Sella Open in her backyard.
“For me, it is a privilege and honour to play a world-class event,” she said. “La Sella Golf is an unbelievable course, it’s in the best shape that I’ve ever seen it. I feel very lucky to call it my home course.
“Obviously, maybe I’m going to be a bit nervous and there’s extra pressure to play at home, but I will do it. I really look forward to it and give my best and enjoy every moment of it. I get to sleep in my own bed every night, so I’m lucky as well.”
The two-time LET winner sits 68th in this year’s Order of Merit and has three top-20 finishes to her name.
Herbin will be teeing it up in the first round at 2.43 pm (local time) alongside Germany’s Leticia Ras-Anderica and Spain’s Natasha Fear.
At the opening ceremony of the tournament, the 41-year-old spoke about why she moved to Spain in the first place.
She continued: “The first time I came here, I fell in love with the place at first sight. We get to travel a lot with our job, in a lot of different places in the world, but there is nothing really like that.
“There are stunning views and stunning landscape, we have the mountains, the sea, the sun and one of the best resorts in Spain. The food was unbelievable, and the people were also so friendly and welcoming. Every time, I travel back at home I came back with a smile on my face knowing I come back to such a paradise. I feel really lucky.”
