Georgia Hall is continuing her comeback to professional golf following the birth of her son Conor earlier this year at this week’s co-sanctioned ISPS HANDA Women’s Scottish Open.
The Major champion has played three Ladies European Tour (LET) events in 2026 and is now playing her first on the LPGA Tour.
Dundonald Links is hosting the tournament for the fifth consecutive year and Hall is excited to get back to playing Links Golf in a place she loves.
“It’s my first LPGA event back,” she said. “I wanted to start in Scotland because it’s like my favourite place ever, so I’m really happy to be here. It’s just like real golf and I just love the wind and the weather involved in it, and you have to be really creative. I just love the scenery and it’s really pretty and I enjoy playing. I’m a big fan.
“I feel like my body is getting a lot better as the weeks progress, so that’s the main thing. I’m trying to peak for best time of the year, obviously and it’s nice to have a card back in my hand and play under a bit of pressure.
“I missed having something to do and trying to achieve things. I would highly recommend it [having a break] for sure, and it kind of slowed everything down for me and slowed my life down, which I think is very good for the mental side of things.”
Hall reached out to a familiar name, Catriona Matthew, in search of some advice about coming back after having a child.
She explained: “I sent a few texts asking for some advice, just coming back after a baby and the mindset of it and playing big events again. She gave some great advice to me, and obviously she’s like such a great player and a great role model to talk to. Hopefully it works, yeah.
“Probably, the top bit… there wer a few good ones, but I think the top one is in a good way to just expect less. Like if you hit a bad shot, she said to me, ‘Of course you’re going to hit a bad shot because you haven’t been around for like a year. You kind of play more relaxed, which hopefully you play better.’ That was the biggest amount of advice that I took from her. It’s harder! I still expect the same. I still expect the same as the weeks go on now for sure.”
Two-time LET winner, who won her Major title at Royal Lytham and St Annes, enjoys Links Golf and believes this week will provide tough test.
She added: “It’s really firm. It’s probably going to play the toughest it’s ever played when I’ve played here. I’m really excited see what the scores are. I think the weather is supposed to come in as well a little bit throughout the week. We’ll see. Hopefully, I get a good side of the draw.”
Hall will be teeing it up at 7.41 am (local time) in round one with fellow Tour mums Anne Van Dam of the Netherlands and Alison Lee of the U.S.A. at Dundonald Links.
