HALL HOPING TO KEEP GIVING HERSELF OPPORTUNTIES AFTER 66 ON DAY TWO

Lydia Hall

Wales’ Lydia Hall fired the equal best round of the week at the 2026 Dutch Ladies Open with a 66 (-6) during the second round.

Hall, who was in the morning wave, started with a dropped shot at the first before birdies on holes three, five and seven, and then back-to-back bogeys on eight and nine.

However, on her back nine the LET winner was on fire as she rolled in four birdies in five holes before sinking an eagle on the 17th to seal a round of 66 (-6).

“The eagle was a bonus; I had a good drive down 17 and had a 3-wood in which was like 221,” she said. “I got it just short, and chipped in from 18 yards. It was a very solid day. I didn’t play too poorly yesterday, but I just didn’t hole anything. The greens were slow yesterday afternoon, so it was nice to get out this morning with it being a little fresher and quicker.

“Yesterday afternoon was a tough session because I don’t feel I played that badly to be three-over par but the stretch coming in is quite difficult with that wind especially playing 18. It was quite a difficult afternoon, and I’m pleased to hang in there and not get too frustrated and have a reality check that it wasn’t that bad for a three-over-par and give myself an opportunity to move up today.

“I’ve been out here a long time and you try to learn as much as possible. You put yourself in that position and don’t want to chase or change too much. Hopefully, I will give myself the same amount of opportunities and give myself the best chance.”

After finishing in a share of second place at the Jabra Ladies Open de France, Hall spoke about her switching her irons, but she is still working on them.

She added: “I revisited my irons and got rid of the graphite shafts and got steel shafts, I had them in the bag up and used them in the Pro-Am but I wasn’t feeling it, so I decided to go back to my Callaway irons and have used those the past two days.

“It’s a big change for me and it’s during the middle of the season, so it’s hard. I haven’t had an off-season, so it was my only opportunity. It’s going to be a trial and error during Pro-Ams to see how I feel playing different shots on the course compared to on the range where they’re amazing.”
