The Amundi German Masters powered by VcG presents the best German female golfers on one of the outstanding golf courses from 26 to 29 June 2025. After three successful years near Berlin, the tournament is now moving to Hamburg.
Olympic medallist Esther Henseleit, defending champion Alexandra Försterling and rising star Helen Briem will be among those playing for the title at the only German event on the Ladies European Tour (LET) on the challenging North Course of the Green Eagle Golf Courses near Hamburg.
In the fourth year of the tournaments, fans can expect a comprehensive live experience with top-class golf around the popular Ferris wheel. This unique attraction has already been a firm favourite with spectators and has attracted international attention as part of the men’s European Open on the DP World Tour and now offers an impressive overview of the course for the first time in the women’s event.
The conditions for a comprehensive golf festival are therefore guaranteed. This also includes the fact that the impressive story of the Amundi German Masters powered by VcG is secured for the long term. Title sponsor Amundi has extended its commitment for a further three years until 2027.
Esther Henseleit: ‘A really cool experience’
“I’m delighted to be back at the Amundi German Masters and even more so that the tournament will take place in my home city of Hamburg,” says Henseleit, currently the best German golfer at number 31 in the world. “It means a lot to me to be able to play in front of friends, my family and hopefully lots of golf fans. I’m sure that the visitors will not only see first-class golf, but that the whole tournament will be a really cool experience and that women’s golf will get more attention in Germany as a result.”
The 25-year-old, who is at home on the LPGA Tour and only plays selected tournaments in Europe, is looking forward to the new venue. She added: “I’m looking forward to the Green Monster, it’s a super beautiful but also really demanding golf course that will present us with many challenges – perfect after a Major.”
Since its premiere in 2022, the Amundi German Masters powered by VcG has established itself as one of the most popular tournaments on the Tour. Back then, Amundi, U.COM Event, the German Golf Association (DGV) and the Association of Club-Free Golfers (VcG) joined forces to bring a first-class women’s tournament back to Germany after a six-year break. Since then, not only have the winners Maja Stark (Sweden), Kristyna Napoleaova (Czechia) and Försterling (Germany) thrilled golf fans, but numerous other strong performances and several top placings by German starters provided many spectacular moments at the Amundi German Masters powered by VcG.
About the Green Monster:
The North Course, one of the Green Eagle Golf Courses, is special. That doesn’t just mean particularly long – although that is true. The North Course was considered the most difficult course in Germany and the longest course on the DP World Tour. With its 7,057 metres in length (from the back tees), it is also one of the top 10 longest courses in the world. Alice Cooper once named the North Course the ‘Green Monster’. The U.S. rock legend was as impressed by the course as many others and that goes far beyond metres.
Paul Casey, winner of the Porsche European Open in 2019, called the course a ‘great challenge’. He is ‘incredibly proud’ to have won here, where professionals and amateur golfers are also confronted with water on 17 holes.
