With just one round remaining at DLF Golf and Country Club, there are five Indians in the top 10 of the 2025 Hero Women’s Indian Open.
The home stars are putting in a show with Hitaashee Bakshi holding a three-shot lead at the top of the standings on nine-under-par.
However, the 21-year-old is not the only representing the home nation with Pranavi Urs in third place on four-under.
Rookie Avani Prashanth and 17-year-old amateur Zara Anand are in a share of fourth place on two-under.
Meanwhile, day one leader Vani Kapoor remains in the top 10 on one-under-par at the 54-hole mark.
It has been nine years since an Indian lifted the Hero Women’s Indian Open trophy – a feat achieved by Aditi Ashok in 2016.
Speaking after the third round, Bakshi said: “I’m very excited and I said it in the press conference at the start of the week that nine is a very lucky number in India, so let’s do it.”
Urs, who will be playing alongside Bakshi in the leading group, added: “It’s amazing how golf is growing in India especially to have two Indians being in the leading group and in contention. It’s pretty good and shows how much golf in India is growing especially women’s golf. I’m excited.”
The leading group will tee off at 11.01 am (local time) on Sunday at DLF Golf and Country Club with the winner crowned later in the day.
