This week marks the start of the 2024 Ladies European Tour (LET) season with the opening event – the Magical Kenya Ladies Open.
A field of 108 players will tee it up on the Baobab Course at Vipingo Ridge in a 72-hole stroke play competition, while there is a cut to the top 60 professionals and ties after 36 holes.
In a year when there are a record number of nations represented on the LET, there will be 36 nations teeing it up in Kenya with players from six continents.
The field is made up of players from nine different categories from sponsors invites to Order of Merit winners, the LET Access Series top six, and those who secured status at Q-School. The full entry list can be found here.
Indian amateur Avani Prashanth is the youngest player in the field at the age of 17 and she is just two weeks younger than Kenyan amateur Chanelle Wangari.
There are 20 rookies in the field this week with 14 players making their LET debut including Laura Sluman who will become the first player from Panama to compete on the Tour and Dorota Zalewska, who will become the first player from Poland to compete on the LET.
Thailand’s April Angurasaranee and England’s Alice Hewson are the best finishers from last season’s edition – the pair ended the week in a tie for second place and will be hoping to go one better.
From last season’s Race to Costa del Sol, India’s Diksha Dagar is the best-placed finisher as she ended 2023 in third.
While of the players competing this week, there are 26 Tour winners who have a combined total of 53 Tour wins between them.
