EXCITEMENT BUILDS AS THE LET HEADS TO NEW VENUE IN BELGIUM

Fresh off a week in Tenerife, the Ladies European Tour (LET) heads to Belgium, where a new venue awaits for the Hulencourt Women’s Open.

Taking place from 12 to 15 June on the Hulencourt course in Vieux-Genappe, Walloon Brabant, the tournament is a continuation of the Belgian Ladies Open, last played in 2023 at Naxhelet Golf Club.

Hulencourt has a proud history of hosting prestigious tournaments, including events on both the Challenge Tour and the ProGolf Tour. The “Le Vallon” course – redesigned in 2020 by renowned architects Frank Pont and Hendrik Hilgert – promises a formidable test for players. Spanning 18 holes, the course features fairways bordered by dense roughs, strategically positioned bunkers, and fast, undulating greens that demand precision and skill.

Boasting a prize fund of €300,000, 132 players are competing in the field this week representing 34 nationalities.

The tournament will see a 72-hole stroke play competition, with a cut to the top 60 professionals and ties after 36 holes.

Germany’s Patricia Schmidt is the defending champion, having won the title in 2023, with a two-shot victory to secure her first LET title. Fellow German Chiara Noja and Spain’s Maria Hernandez finished T2, and will be hoping to go one better this week.

Schmidt stands alone as the sole former champion competing in the field.

Several Belgian players will be in attendance who are all amateurs: Céline Manche, Sophie Bert, Audrey Lam, Louise Cuyvers and Diane Denis.

England’s Cara Gainer, winner of the 2025 LET season opener – the Lalla Meryem Cup in Morocco – joins a stacked field.

Mimi Rhodes, who currently leads the Order of Merit and Rookie of the Year standings, isn’t in the field this week which makes Kajsa Arwefjall the leading rookie on 527.50 points. The Swede is amongst 26 other rookies in Belgium.

Of the 132 players in the field, there are 26 LET winners who have a combined total of 41 LET victories between them.

The full entry list can be found here.

A charity Pro-Am will kick-off the tournament on Wednesday 11 June. It will feature 24 teams, comprised of three amateurs and one professional, with the goal of supporting the royal non-profit organisation Secours et Conseils. They are dedicated to helping individuals in the Brussels area facing temporary hardship, especially in cases where public social services fall short.

Yannick Noah, who has been named ambassador for the tournament and a former tennis legend turned music artist, will participate in this charity event.

All four rounds of the Hulencourt Women’s Open will broadcast around the world and on the LET YouTube channel. Further details to follow.
