Nicole Broch Estrup is making her first Ladies European Tour (LET) appearance in 17 months this week as she continues her comeback following the birth of her baby boy Max.
The Danish star made her first competitive appearance on the LPGA Tour at the ShopRite LPGA powered by Wakefern where she finished in T14 and has made four appearances in total.
Another solid result of T12 at the Dow Championship and a couple of missed cuts at the Meijer LPGA Classic for Simply Give and KPMG Women’s PGA Championship.
However, this is the first time the LET winner has teed it up on European soil and the LET since welcoming her son.
“It’s really good to be back with my LET family and see a lot of familiar faces again,” she said. “I’m excited to bring Max out one of the next couple of days to see everyone. It’s a good atmosphere here and I have good memories from this course and this place. It’s a good LET return.
“I don’t think I realised until the week after that I made seven birdies within eight holes during that round. I knew I’d been doing well in my practice but coming back to tournament and game mode is very different. My expectations were just to see how I played. I was very open to everything and it seemed to click that round and in general.
“The first two weeks I was back was really good and then I don’t want to say a reality check, but even though I’m trying to give myself time to ease back into as soon as you do you know you want to compete. I got a little bit in my own way the last couple of events, but it’s been nice to have three weeks off now to reset and look at how we can optimise with Max around. I’m looking forward to get back out competing again.”
Broch Estrup last played on the LET at the PIF Saudi Ladies International in February 2025 and after that, she spent time nesting at home with her husband Kasper before Max came along in June of that year.
The Dane admits she didn’t touch her golf clubs for a long time and she also didn’t have a plan of when she wanted to return to competitive golf, rather she followed her body and mind.
She explained: “I played my last event in Saudi and then I didn’t touch a club for nine months. I think that’s very rare and it’s very different from what the other girls have done. We moved into our new house, and it was so nice.
“We are our own bosses, we can decide how much we want to practice ourselves, but if you don’t practice, you can’t compete out here. It was kind of nice to have an excuse not to practice a little bit and just almost like live a normal life and settle into the house before Max came.
“I didn’t make a plan for when I wanted to return. A couple of dates were up in the air and then obviously I am exempt into AIGWO next week, so I was debating whether to start before or after that. I didn’t want to just come back to this week and then play AIG next week as my second event.
“I took it very easy and I was just kind of listening to my body and also my mind. In the beginning, I was practising when I wanted and not because I had to. I just eased into it. I was following on leaderboards and scoreboards, and when you see your friends doing well, I was itching to come out here. It’s good to be back.”
Broch Estrup is teeing up at the 2026 ISPS HANDA Women’s Scottish Open which is being held at Dundonald Links from July 23-26.
The LET winner has a best finish of T6 here in 2026 and is looking forward to back-to-back weeks of Links Golf.
“It’s playing nicely. Obviously, a little bit firmer, but I like the place and have got good vibes. I think it’s a good course and we’ll just see. See how their weather holds up,” she continued.
With so many mums on Tour, Broch Estrup has many role models to look up to and provide inspiration.
She noted how amazing it was to see Finland’s Noora Komulainen secure her maiden LET victory with her daughter Elli running onto the green at the Tipsport Czech Ladies Open in June.
She added: “It’s so much fun. To see Noora win in Czech a couple of weeks ago, it gave me goosebumps watching her daughter running onto the green. That is the absolute dream to have Max come running on the green when I hopefully win at some point again.”
Broch Estrup will tee it up in the first round in Scotland at 12.41 pm (local time) alongside Australian duo Kirsten Rudgeley and Robyn Choi.
