Blomqvist wins luxury Omega watch with incredible hole in one

Minea Blomqvist receiving an exclusive OMEGA watch from Henri Burrus, Omega’s Regional Sales Manager, as Mohamed Juma Buamaim, vice chairman and CEO of golf in DUBAi, and Ivan Khodabakhsh, CEO of Ladies European Tour, look on

Finland’s Minea Blomqvist was presented with a luxury OMEGA watch after she scored a hole-in-one on the seventh during the second round of the Omega Dubai Ladies Masters at the Emirates Golf Club on Friday.

Blomqvist used her seven iron to ace the 147-yard par-3 hole, becoming the second professional after Tania Elosegui of Spain to achieve the feat on this challenging hole and the sixth overall to join the hole-in-one club at the Majlis course since the inception of the season-ending Ladies European Tour event.

As a reward, the 31-year-old professional, who boasts two wins on the Ladies European Tour, received an exclusive OMEGA Seamaster Aqua Terra 150M Master Co-Axial. The luxurious timepiece is made with 18K Sedna gold and stainless steel, and features a diamond-set bezel and a stunning white mother-of-pearl dial.

Blomqvist may have missed the cut, but was delighted to give herself an early Christmas present with that tee shot.

“Frankly, I didn’t hit it very well, caught it a bit thin, but luckily it popped into the hole. I am really excited. It was my first hole-in-one in a competition, though I had aced once before, but that was in a practice round,” said Blomqvist who turned professional in 2003.

“My golf wasn’t that great this week, but winning the OMEGA watch has made my week and made my year,” said Blomqvist, who finished at 10 over.
