India’s Hitaashee Bakshi fired the low round of the day on Friday to move into contention at the 2025 Jabra Ladies Open.
The 20-year-old produced an opening round of 72 (+1) before firing a 66 (-5) on day two at Evian Resort Golf Club.
Bakshi, who began her second round from the 15th tee, started with a birdie before making another at the 17th hole.
She then rolled in two more on one and three before dropping her only shot of the day at the fourth hole.
However, she bounced back with birdies on six and eight to seal a round of five-under-par and move into a share of fourth place.
“Today was a sunny day! That’s all I will say because yesterday I teed off around 3.20 pm so it rained the whole day for me,” she said. “A sunny day was the main highlight. I would say I was doing most things quite well, a score of five-under suggests that.
“I had a mix of different birdies, some were really close like on 15 I teed off and I was inches away from an eagle, but the rest were good 20-footers in as well. It was a mix of both. Tomorrow, I’m just going to play my game and see where that takes me.”
Bakshi, who won the Women’s Golf Association of India (WGAI) Order of Merit in 2024, is playing her second LET event of the 2025 season.
The Indian star finished in a share of 12th place at last week’s Dutch Ladies Open and is enjoying her first visit to Evian.
She added: “It’s my first time. It’s my first full season, so everything is new for me! Playing on LET is a dream come true for me because as a child I always wanted to play here. I’m, very much enjoying every single day that I can.”
