Rosie Davies Inspires Professional Women in Qatar

Ladies European Tour rookie professional Rosie Davies from London shared her experiences of setting up her own business with members of the Qatar Professional Women’s Network as a key speaker on a panel discussion during the Qatar Ladies Open.

Davies, who set up her own CrossFit gym two years ago, discussed how she combines playing professional golf with being an entrepreneur as part of an event focusing on the business of sport.

Attendees also heard how Qatari sports icon Nada Zeidan broke through gender barriers to pursue her career as an archer, spokesmodel, and rally car racer, how Rula Soussou managed events such as the Asian Games and how Amina Ahmadi set up her own sportswear brand.

The speakers were all driven by passion, hard work, discipline and self-belief in order to achieve their goals and encouraged others to dream big and speak out about their ambitions.

Rosie said that the challenges of setting up a business were considerable, but the satisfaction gained from achieving her vision was worthwhile.

She said: “You wouldn’t believe the sleepless nights I had just setting up the business. Luckily I’m now two years in and I’ve found a great staff of people that share the same vision as me. That was also very difficult. We have to find people that have common principles and are doing it for the same reasons. I set up the business because I was passionate about fitness and especially what that did for women.”
