Zorzi returns after two years

Two-time LET winner Veronica Zorzi from Italy has returned from maternity to make her first LET appearance in two years at the ISPS HANDA Ladies European Masters.

The 35-year-old from Verona gave birth to her first child, a won called Ettore, 10 months ago and has decided to play at Golf Club Hubbelrath in Düsseldorf, which is fairly close to home. Her last start was at the Ladies Italian Open presented by Ruco Line in 2014.

“Everything is good but life changes completely when you have a baby boy. You have to be organised but I said, ‘Why not play?’ It’s a one hour flight from my home and it’s the first time that I’ve left him at home with my mum and auntie. I feel good and it’s nice to be here and play,” she explained.

The winner of the Open de France Dames at Golf d’Arras in 2005 and 2006 has low expectations due to her minimal preparation and continued: “I haven’t practised a lot because I don’t have time. I do nine holes sometimes with a buggy but then I have to come back. It’s different. I didn’t have a plan for this year. Maybe I will play in Abu Dhabi and Qatar. I will see how I feel on the golf course after two years.”
