For the second year running, the LET Rookies took part in a Pro-Am at the 5-star Denia Marriott La Sella Golf Resort and Spa (Costa Blanca, Spain) as part of the Rookie Orientation Days. A talented group of the LET’s newest members enjoyed the opportunity to show off their impressive skills to the La Sella members and local sponsors in glorious sunshine.
This was a particularly special event for Leticia Ras-Andérica who started her playing career at the venue and is still an active member living just 15 minutes away. Leticia said: “This is my first LET event as a Professional golfer and to be playing it at this venue means a lot to me. Along with my fellow Rookies, we had a great time with the Pro-Am guests.” Mara Bañó from La Sella commented: “The La Sella members really enjoyed the opportunity to get to know the young female Professionals who will be the stars of the future, and much more with our beloved Leticia. We are pleased to be able to work with the Ladies European Tour to make it possible for our members to play with such high quality golfers. We are also grateful to Thalgo, the world leader in professional marine cosmetics, for supporting the event.”
The Pro-Am guests included five local juniors who had been excused from school lessons so that they could see and learn from the LET Rookies. Mike Round, the LET’s Director or Development and Membership said: “The Pro-Am was one of the highlights of the Rookie Orientation Days. The event forms part of our education programme for the Rookies and gave them some valuable experience which will help them as they start their Professional careers as an LET player. We are grateful to the team at La Sella for helping to make the event so successful and to Thalgo for supplying the prizes.” The event was won by Colombian Maribel Porras Lopez’s team with 48 points. During the lively post-event gathering, where prizes were presented to the top four teams, she said: “I want to thank all the people that are here today, all the partners of the venue and everyone that has been so amazing to us. I had a great day today and it has been a huge experience for all of us to come here to La Sella and participate in the Rookie Orientation.”
