Lee-Anne Pace, the highest ranked player in the RACV Ladies Masters this week, says that she is feeling hungry to win again after her back-to-back victories on the LET and LPGA last year.
Pace won the Cell C South African Women’s Open and Blue Bay LPGA Classic in China in October and hopes to start the 2015 season in similarly successful fashion.
The World No. 29 from South Africa is teeing up for the first time in two months and said: “I’ve taken quite a lot of time off this year since Dubai in December I just wanted to have more time to get my head straight again and just relax and get refreshed. I really feel hungry again for the game and hopefully I can do it this week.”
Like the other players in the field, she is looking forward to testing herself against the new-look RACV Royal Pines Resort golf course, which includes some holes on the old course and some on the new.
She added: “It’s really good. I think now you have to think a little bit more, the shapes of the greens you definitely have to be able to shape it in a little bit and land a bit softer maybe if the pins on the right, slopes down. Bit more challenging, I think if the wind gets up it’ll be really good so yeah I like it.
“As long as the green speeds are all the same and you’ve played the course before so you know what to expect. It’s a little bit of a different view.”
