Bronte Law returned to Ladies European Tour (LET) action with a bang on day one at the Hulencourt Women’s Open as the Englishwoman opened with a round of 68 (-4) to share the lead alongside three other players.
The three-time winner has only featured once on the LET in 2026 before this week, a missed cut at the season-opening PIF Saudi Ladies International, with Law taking time off after starting a family with her wife, Alexa.
The arrival of baby boy, Hugo, seven months ago has given Law a new perspective as she returns to action this week. Both Alexa and Hugo watched from the sidelines on day one in Belgium at Hulencourt Golf Club, something the Solheim Cup winner embraced every minute of.
“They walked all 18 holes today which is a good effort when you’re only seven months old!” Law said. “My wife [Alexa] did a good job keeping Hugo entertained on the course. It’s only my fourth event this year [including the U.S. Women’s Open Qualifier and U.S. Women’s Open] and they’ve been at three of them. It’s been really nice and we’re starting to get into the swing of things.
“It’s very different preparation for me and how I used to do things. But nonetheless, it’s super enjoyable and I’m really enjoying being a mum.
“Perspective is huge and I’ve realised golf isn’t now the most important thing in my life. It gives you a lightness about golf because you’re playing for other people. The fact that they’re able to come and watch you is really special. It’s so special that they’re able to come and watch.”
Last month, Law tee’d up in the second Major of the year, the U.S. Women’s Open, where her return to Los Angeles with also a family affair for the three-time LET winner.
“I recently played at the U.S. Women’s Open and had my dad there as well caddying,” Law said, who missed the cut at The Riviera Country Club. “I had all three of them there and it felt like a really nice thing to experience that. I know my dad absolutely loved it and it was something we’ll remember forever. It does give you a new perspective about what’s important and makes you realise golf isn’t the be-all-and-end-all.”
Law cared five birdies and dropped just one shot on Thursday at the Hulencourt Women’s Open. She shares the round one lead with Switzerland’s Morgane Metraux, South Africa’s Nadia van der Westhuizen and India’s Diksha Dagar.
Following this week’s event in Belgium, Law will tee up at the co-sanctioned ISPS Handa Women’s Scottish Open later this month before returning to Centurion for the PIF London Championship – the event she won back in 2022. She will then team up with Anne van Dam to vice captain Team Europe at the 2026 PING Junior Solheim Cup in September.
